1. Hero Introduction

Wukong is one of the main characters in the Chinese classic "Journey to the West," born from a stone monkey nurtured by an immortal stone. He was honored as the "Monkey King" for leading a group of monkeys to reside in the Water Curtain Cave, later taking the Buddhist name " Wukong" after becoming a disciple. In the game, Wukong's character closely resembles the image from the classic, wielding the Ruyi Jingu Bang as his weapon, with skill designs that align with the descriptions of Wukong in the book. Wukong is highly popular in China, and the recent game "Black Myth: Wukong" has gained immense popularity. Whenever Wukong's skins are up for voting in Honor of Kings , he consistently receives the highest number of votes, affectionately referred to as "the Monkey " by players.

2. Skin Showcase

The name of this skin reflects how others referred to Wukong before he received his Buddhist name, as he led the monkeys to settle in the Water Curtain Cave. Wearing this skin, Wukong exudes an unruly and kingly aura, adding to his background story.

The overall in-game effects are decent, considering it is a free skin, with moderate quality. Interestingly, the in-game appearance is quite similar to Lu Bu's original skin.

Basic Attack: Strikes enemy units with his staff.

First Skill: Surrounded by a yellow aura.

Second Skill: Jumps using target paths.

Third Skill: Plunges the Ruyi Jingu Bang into the ground, dealing yellow area damage and knocking back enemies within range.

3.Skill Description

(1)Passive Skill: The Great Sage

Enhance,Damage

Passive

After using a skill, Wukong enhances his next Basic Attack, where he charges atthe target to deal 475 (+100% Physical Attack) physical damage. This skill fullybenefits from critical hit bonuses.

He has a base Crit Rate of 20%, but his base Crit Damage is only 150%.

(2)Skill 1: Protective Shroud

Immunity,Shield,Speed Up

CD: 12 s

Mana Cost (70)

Wukong chants a protective spell that lets him resist the next enemy skill usedon him. The spell lasts up to 1.5s. lf a skill is successfully resisted, he becomes invincible for 0.2 s and gains a shield that negates 500 (+150% Physical Attack)(+15% extra Health) damage for 4 s.He gains 40% Movement Speed for 1 s when using this skill.

Note: This skill is very useful for evading crowd control and lethal attacks.

(3)Skill 2: Furious Advance

Movement,Speed Up

CD: 6 s

Mana Cost (50)

Wukong dashes in the target direction. lf he dashes into a target, he leaps into the air and gains 90% Movement Speed that diminishes over 1 s. Using a Basic Attack or skill will interrupt this leap.

Monster Slayer: Dashing into monsters will deal 240 (+20% Physical Attack) true damage to them. lf the monster has less than 15% Health, it will be killed instantly. This does not affect the Overlord or Tyrant.

Note: Wukong can use this skill to jump off enemies or allies. When clearing minion waves, it's advisable not to directly jump onto the wave. Instead, interrupt the jump to check if enemies are hiding in the brush to set up ambushes. Due to Wukong's low tankiness, being controlled can easily lead to death. Therefore, it's important to stay vigilant when clearing waves or passing through unwarded brush.

(4)Skill 3: Golden Cudgel

Crowd Control,Mark,Damage

CD: 40 s

Mana Cost (100)

Wukong rams his staff into the earth, dealing 250 (+80% extra Physical Attack)physical damage to enemies within range and launching them for 1 s. He also places 3 marks on enemies within range. When his Basic Attacks hit amarked enemy, the target loses a mark and takes 270 extra physical damage.

Note:This skill combines both control and damage, allowing you to pair it with the second skill to control and deal damage to enemy mages or marksmen up close.

4. Strengths and Weaknesses Analysis:

(1)Strengths:

- Simple skills, easy to pick up

- Has control abilities and burst damage

(2)Weaknesses:

- Wukong's skill damage is almost negligible; most of his damage comes from basic attacks. Therefore, until key items are obtained, Wukong struggles to deal significant damage.

- Burst damage is unstable; Wukong's output is reliant on critical strikes, so during unlucky streaks, multiple strikes may not crit.

- Wukong has very little margin for error; after using a full set of skills in a team fight, he may not have any skills available to disengage. Unlike other jungle heroes like Han Xin, Yao, or Jing, who can rely on basic attacks or ultimates for output and then use skills to disengage, Wukong risks being counter-killed if his skills are on cooldown after a combo.

- Wukong is a popular pick, and most players are familiar with his skills, making opponents cautious and less likely to allow Wukong to hit them easily.

- Wukong has many natural counters, such as Liu Bei, Fuzi, Kai, and Dun. Once Wukong is selected, opponents often choose Liu Bei to counter him.

- In lower-tier matches, players often lack overall awareness; a Wukong player with some awareness and skill can achieve remarkable results. However, in higher-tier matches, where players have better awareness, Wukong is less likely to catch opponents off guard.

5. Recommended Builds:

Wukong's build focuses mainly on increasing physical attack and critical strike rates. Therefore, items like Eternity Blade, Shadow Ripper, and Master Sword are good choices. It is also recommended to purchase items like Siege Breaker or Starbreaker to enhance physical attack.

Conclusion:

Every hero has its strengths and weaknesses. Wukong is well-suited for beginner players or those who are not adept at complex operations. Give him a try and see how you fare!
