Genshin Impact version 5.5 "Day of the Flame's Return" Phase 2 comes with an exciting and challenging musical minigame, Rhythm Ball Meztli. The event starts on 28 April 2025 at 10:00 Server time and will end on 6 May 2025 at 03:59 Server Time. In the minigame, you must manoeuvre your paddle to return balls, which break bricks.

As per the story, Paimon gets an invitation from Mualani to a music party at the People of the Springs. This event gets you primogems, which you can use for the current banner or save for a future one. If you want to pull Xilonen Varesa Iansan or even Venti, getting Genshin Impact Crystals from TOPUPlive will be the safest bet. Even the smallest amount of primogems is valuable, so let us try to get the highest score and defeat the bosses for some goodies!

Prerequisites For Playing Rhythm Ball Meztli

As seen with all gacha games, we have to do a bare minimum to be eligible to participate in events, exclusive or otherwise. The bare minimum for playing Rhythm Ball Meztli are:

  • Adventure rank 20 or above.
  • Completion of the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III named "Song of the Dragon and Freedom".

You should raise your adventure rank by completing quests, opening chests, from the experience tab in the Adventurer Handbook, and spending Original Resin. Also, follow around the main storyline to complete the Archon Quests. For the best experience from this minigame, it is better to complete the Archon Quest "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection" for the best gaming experience.

How To Play Rhythm Ball Meztli?

It is simple. Ever remember the bounce-the-ball games you find on reels or shorts or the old keypad phone? It is almost the same concept. You must bounce a 'Rhythm Ball' between your side and the opponent. The opposition has bricks. These brick walls protect the main Rhythm boss.

Return The Incoming Balls

You will have chances in the form of balls. There is some wiggle room in the scenario that you lose a ball. It will be your weapon, but it is more like a double-edged sword. Make sure not to lose the balls, and simultaneously use them to break the bricks which guard the Rhythm Boss.

Your main goal is to either get the most amount of points within the time limit, or you will have to defeat the Rhythm Boss. As the game progresses, you will get more balls. It will get hard to manage them all. So, try bouncing them off the walls to stall for time. Finally, be alert! Watch the balls at all times. You must focus on this game.

Use Elemental Reactions

The 'wild' part of the game is that the bricks also have Elemental Types. Likewise, the bar you move around will also have the same feature. You can control the Elemental Type of your bar by changing your character. So, make sure you have a diverse team.

Depending on the characters you have in your team, you can use Elemental reactions to break the blocks. For those who do not know, here is a quick run-down of the elemental reactions:

  • Anemo reacts with Cryo, Hydro, Electro and Pyro to create a swirl.
  • Geo reacts with Cryo, Hydro, Electro, and Pyro to form a crystal.
  • If you do a Pyro elemental ball to an Electro Brick or vice versa, you can overload the brick.
  • Electro reacts with hydro, dealing twice the damage.
  • Pyro melts Cryo.
  • Pyro also vaporizes Hydro.
  • When Cryo and Hydro come together, they freeze.
  • If you apply Dendro and Pyro, it will burn.

Try not to hit the same Elemental Brick with the same Elemental ball. It causes the least damage. As per the seven different Elemental Types, there are seven different Bricks too. You will be able to understand the Elemental Type of the brick and the plank by its color. The colors denote the following brick types:

Rythm Ball Meztli Event Rewards

Events mean rewards. Depending on the size and importance of the event, the merrier and bigger the rewards you get. Likewise, this event, Rhythm Bal Meztli, will give you some goodies. The rewards might not be that great, but they are still decent. The rewards aren't set in stone.

  • You get Mora. You can use it to ascend characters, craft items, forge weapons, buy souvenirs, and level up talents, weapons, and artifacts.
  • Character Talent Ascension material for leveling up the talents of the characters.
  • Hero's Wit, allows you to push your characters to higher levels. Using one Hero's Wit will get you 20000 EXP points for your character.
  • The In-game Holy Grail - Primogems, which you need for pulling your favorite characters in the current or upcoming banner. This event gets you enough primogems for one pull.

If you are trying to pull a favorite character from the current banner or any of the upcoming banners, you will need primogems. Whether it be Venti Xilonen or Firuzan, you need primogems. But much better than saving up for primogems, is to buy Genshin Impact Crystals. The Crystals can be exchanged for Primogems in a 1:1 ratio. Otherwise, you can gather them from various tasks and quests. Then, save them for particular banners.

Conclusion

Genshin Impact version 5.5 "Day of the Flame's Return" Phase two is fun. With events like Rhythm Ball Meztli, miHoYo keeps us entertained. The current banners are a bit wonky, with the combination of the four stars being out of the box. Regardless, if you are having fun, that is all that matters. May your pulls go well and event rewards be plentiful in this half of the update.
