Compared to the first chapter, "Black Myth: Wukong" has created a large-scale maze-like sandbox in the second chapter, Yellow Wind Ridge. The main storyline introduces stunning hidden map elements - the Tiger Temple conceals secret passages, offering players multiple strategic routes. In other words, there are plenty of hidden quests and bosses, so if you're stuck on the main storyline, why not try collecting first. Here is a guide to hidden side quests we've compiled for you.
1. Child's Drum Side Quest
If you defeat the Tiger Vanguard first and proceed from Dingfeng Bridge to Dingfeng Village, you will encounter an elite monster, Tiger Jiang, on the route to battle the Stone Vanguard. Defeating Tiger Jiang will reward you with the "Old Drum," which unlocks the Drum hidden side quest.
Return to the Dingfeng Village Earth Temple. When Wang Hui enters the village, turn left after entering the door to the courtyard. The screen will darken, and you will hear a child's voice. In the courtyard, at the spot where three zombies kneel towards the door, use the drum to trigger a cutscene.
Next, head to "Shamen Village - Bujigu," the area where you previously fought Sha Erlang. Exit the stone gate and descend the stairs. This stone gate can only be opened after defeating the Stone Vanguard and Tiger Vanguard. After exiting the gate, walk down the stairs and you will see a bridge. Turn right at the end of the bridge, the screen will darken, and use the drum to trigger the second part of the story.
Finally, go to Shamen Village and find a well in a corner near the pavilion. Use the drum at the well to trigger the third part of the story. After the dialogue, follow the child and jump down the well together. You will encounter the hidden boss, Mad Tiger, who will give you a gourd after the battle. The gourd halves healing effects but significantly boosts attack power.
2. Stone Man Side Quest
After defeating the Sand King and Sha Erlang, take the right path past the bridge. Arrive at the Jiehun Cliff - Cangfeng Mountain Hollow and explore the area bathed in sunlight on the right. Walk along the mountain valley until you reach the end and encounter the Stone Man. During the conversation, the Stone Man will ask you to kill the Stone Mother.
When battling the Stone Mother, be aware that she will continuously summon stone monsters. It is recommended to use Monkey Hair first to make the fight much easier. After defeating the Stone Mother, you will obtain the "Stone Essence."
After giving the "Stone Essence" to the Stone Man, he will break his promise. At this point, you can choose to directly attack him and obtain the "Spell - Bichen," which allows you to transform into a stone spirit. You can purchase quest items from the Stone Man, but avoid buying the "Sobering Stone."
3. Huang Feng’s guide Side Quest
Head to the Pillow Stone Terrace in the Jiehun Cliff and follow the path along the fence straight ahead to find the NPC -a guide in the yellow robe.
Give the Sobering Stone to then guide, and he will lead you to the Wo Hu Temple. Use the teleport function to reach the temple gate of Wo Hu Temple, enter the temple, and find the guide on the right side of the temple. Talk to him and give him the herb "Green Lotus Root" (which can be found in the water area in Chapter 1).
Return to the place where you first met the guide. This time, he will start a battle upon seeing the Arrojin Shard (a drop from Sha Erlang) on the Fate-man's body.
After winning the battle, go to the map of the Hidden Demon King, the Golden Kingdom. Inside the Golden Kingdom, there is only one path. Follow the story and defeat the hidden boss, Fu Fan. Upon defeating Fu Fan, you will obtain the treasure, the "Wind-Defying Bead."
4. Dragon Scale Side Quest
To start this quest, you need to obtain the Dragon Scale. After defeating the Sand King and his son, follow the son who devours his father. Defeat the son, and during the battle, lure him to crash into the Buddha wall behind. You can use the Ghost Soul to make him crash, creating a crack that allows you to enter and obtain the Dragon Scale.
Still at the Pillow Stone Terrace, head northeast where you will encounter an Elite Shield Soldier with a sandstorm behind him. Take the Dragon Scale to the Sand Waterfall to unlock a hidden map. Inside, you will face the Little Lizard Dragon. While it is not very strong itself, you need to avoid its lightning attacks as getting hit by them will likely result in death.
