Is Genshin Impact addictive?

Every game that I have ever played has been really fun in its own way. But in my opinion, Genshin Impact was the one that blew my mind the most when it got released in 2020. At this point, I had already played LoL for roughly 10 years. I legit thought I would never stop raging in the elo hell of LoL, but after experiencing Genshin Impact during the pandemic, I started feeling like a child again. After all, I had the freedom to explore a boundless fantasy world. The story is great, the combat is engaging, and even the characters are well-designed. The world is beautiful, the game's atmosphere is so relaxing, and world exploration is pure bliss (especially the music!).

Today, it has been over 2.5 years since I started playing Genshin Impact, yet I am still not bored with it. I still love the game to death. It's one of the healthiest games out there that you can play. Dailies take 5 mins, burning resin takes 10 mins, and the daily event takes 10 mins. I can play less during days that I am busy, and I can simply play more whenever I have proper free time. Staying at the forefront of the game takes very little effort, and keeping up with the latest patch is fun and is something that I always look forward to. Because of the live service model, the community feels very much alive.

Today, I can confidently say that Genshin Impact is the best game that I have ever played. It's the game that is closest to the "perfect game" that I have envisioned throughout my life. Sure, the game could work a bit on the co-op department, but still, this is already a really pleasant gaming experience.

I am staying with Genshin until the end, and I probably won't look anywhere else. It is literally the only game that I need in my life; the game truly makes me feel content. Genshin might truly be the final destination. Not sure if I will have the energy/time to pick up another online live service game after all of this is over. Thank you Mihoyo for all the good memories.
