The latest Version 3.1 Memory of Chaos: Out of Home update is here! The main culprit behind the protagonist team’s losses in the storyline has now entered Memory of Chaos Floor 12. This guide will teach you how to tackle the Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark!
Memory Turbulence
This cycle's environmental buff includes:
Max HP increased by 30% for all allies.
Recover 5% HP when hit / 10% HP when consuming HP.
Each action adds 1 or 2 stacks of Memory Turbulence. At the start of a turn, stacks inflict true damage on a random enemy.
For example, in Floor 12 (First Half), every stack deals 13,000 true damage to the Flame Reaver, which can help mid-to-low-investment teams compensate for damage output.
This environment benefits three types of players:
Players without a sustain character, allowing for riskier max-damage lineups.
Players prone to failing, increasing survivability.
Teams with HP-scaling DPS, such as Blade, Tribble, or Mydel.
※ Memory of Chaos Floor 11 features familiar enemies:
First Half: Thunder Roar (ideal for high-speed, single-target units).
Second Half: Spear of Divine Wrath (favoring AoE burst).
Floor 12 (First Half) - Out of Home
Recommended Elements: Quantum = Ice > Lightning
Many players are unfamiliar with Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark’s mechanics, making it a high-risk battle. Fortunately, since it's in the First Half, retries have a lower time cost. Keep these key points in mind:
① Eliminate the Flame Reaver's clones ASAP!
If no clones are present, the boss consumes its own HP to summon one.
If clones exist, the boss enhances its skills and heals instead.
Eliminating clones reduces the boss’s HP, damage resistance, and future skill damage—a major advantage.
② Healing characters are highly valuable.
The Flame Reaver’s attacks inflict Erosion, turning a portion of your HP dark red, making it uncurable.Erosion can be removed by attacking the boss or receiving healing, granting +30% increased damage on your next attack.
Recommended Team Comps:
The Herta + Herta (small) / Serval + Tribble / Robin / Ruan Mei + Sustain Unit
Jade + Tribble + Trailblazer + Gallagher
Jade should mark Tribble as the "Debt Collector" at the start.
Aglaea / Jing Yuan + Sunday + Robin + Huo Huo / Sustain
Aglaea can directly attack the main body, while AoE will clear clones.
Acheron + Jiaoqiu + Pela / Sparkle / Tribble + Aventurine / Fuxuan / Gepard
Floor 12 (Second Half) - Out of Home
Recommended Elements: Imaginary > Quantum > Fire = Physical
Apart from Kafka (40% Lightning Resistance), other enemies have no special resistances. However, enemy control effects are extremely strong, especially with two new enemy types.
① Understanding Enemy Marks:
Noontide Gryphon:
Sweeps right to left, inflicting 1 stack of Aegle Mark.
Summons 3 Meteoric Eagles.
Defeating enemies removes 1 random stack.
Moonlit Pegasus:
Sweeps left to right, inflicting 1 stack of Oronyx Mark.
Using an Ultimate clears its own mark.
If different marks meet, they trigger "Energy Drain + Entanglement":
2 Aegle Marks: Drain energy.
2 Oronyx Marks: Inflict Entanglement.
Aegle + Oronyx Marks: Drain energy + Inflict Entanglement.
② Prioritize Noontide Gryphon.
It summons Meteoric Eagles—eliminating it removes all summoned enemies.
③ Recover Before Wave 2!
Try to restore energy, skill points, and HP before defeating the last enemy of Wave 1.
Wave 2 consists of Kafka + 2 Meteoric Eagles, making it easy to fall into a chain-CC trap.
Use turn manipulation, burst skills, or crowd control early to gain the upper hand.
Recommended Team Comps:
Mydel + Sunday / Trailblazer + Tribble / Pela + Gallagher / Luocha
Rappa / Firefly / Boothill + Fugue / Trailblazer (Harmony) + Ruan Mei + Gallagher / Lingsha
Breaking enemies and controlling turns makes sustain-less teams viable.
Dan Heng • IL (2-Soul) + Sunday + Robin / Tribble + Sustain
Yunli + Sunday / Trailblazer + Robin / Tribble + Sustain
Conclusion
The main challenge of this cycle is Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark in Floor 12 (First Half):
Low damage output leads to drawn-out fights.Failing to clear clones results in the boss healing back your damage.
Meanwhile, the Second Half is more about unfamiliar mechanics—if caught in a chain-control loop, it can quickly lead to failure.
