Key Constellations for Permanent 5-Star Characters:

Diluc: Constellation 1

Increases Diluc's own damage. Other constellations provide crucial enhancements in certain team compositions, but overall not recommended. Constellation 6 completes the set.

Keqing:

Each constellation evenly enhances Keqing herself. Constellation 6 is the complete form for main DPS.

Mona: Constellations 1, 4, 6

Constellations 1 and 4 serve as supportive constellations, while Constellation 6 allows Mona to unleash a nuclear explosion.

Tighnari: Constellations 1 and 6

Both constellations enhance Tighnari 's main DPS damage.

Jean: Constellation 4

Essential in a Wind team if the main DPS deals Anemo damage.

Qiqi: Constellations 1 and 6

Constellation 1 serves as a supportive constellation for quick Ultimate recovery to heal teammates. Constellation 6 revives the entire team after a character's death.

Diluc:

All constellations enhance Diluc himself, with Constellation 6 completing the main DPS form.

If you are a novice player and none of the mentioned characters are available, which one should you choose?

Answer: Prioritize XP.

Considering team composition:

If you lack a healer, choose Jean or Qiqi.

If you lack a main DPS, consider Tighnari, Diluc, or Keqing.

If you need support, Mona or Dehya are good choices.

Let's delve into the compatibility of these 5-star characters with novice players:

Starting with the healer category:

[Jean] Recommendation Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pros: Ideal choice for novice healers, simply focus on using her Elemental Burst with the Aquila Favonia/Sacrificial Sword to heal by unleashing her Burst, which can restore half a character's HP bar for the whole team.

Cons: Challenging to fit into late-game teams, but synergizes well with the four-set and Anemo characters, fitting nicely into Anemo teams.

Her Ascension materials are conveniently located within Mondstadt, with the Vayuda Turquoise Silver, Cecilia Seeds, and Whopperflower Nectar easily obtainable without much trouble.

[Qiqi] Recommendation Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Pros: A very cute little girl with a significant healing ability through normal attacks after using her Elemental Burst.

Cons: Often unable to unleash her Burst due to insufficient energy, leading to situations where she dies before being able to heal through normal attacks. Difficult to find suitable team compositions in the late game.

Collecting her Ascension materials can be a bit troublesome. While the Hoarfrost Core can be obtained by defeating bosses, the Divining Scroll is relatively easy to find. However, the Philanemo Mushroom can be challenging to gather as it grows in the steep mountains of Liyue, requiring a considerable amount of climbing that may be taxing for newcomers.

Moving on to the main DPS category:

[Tighnari] a bow-wielding Hydro character, Recommended Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pros:

No need to worry about not being able to use bow characters, as after using his skill, Tartaglia's arrows automatically track targets with decent damage output when equipped with some scattered artifacts.

Very useful for exploring the vast world of Tevyat, especially in the Chasm area where a Hydro character is essential for exploration (don't worry too much about this, as the Abyss will provide the Hydro character, Kaeya, and you can explore the Chasm world).

Cons:

(1) Difficult to find Ascension materials

Moonlight is far away in the Chasm, which may take a considerable amount of time for newcomers who have explored the map but haven't fully activated all waypoints to collect.

Pollen is particularly challenging to obtain as it requires not using characters of Pyro or Electro elements.

Finding the location of the Ascension boss also requires guidance and exploration.

(2) Tartaglia deals Hydro damage, which alone may not be high, requiring team composition. However, newcomers may lack characters to form a complete team, so careful consideration is needed.

[Diluc] Recommended Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pros: As a newcomer's first Pyro character, Diluc can be your companion in battle when you lack a main DPS, helping you carve a path forward.

Cons: The claymore's handling may feel a bit heavy, so those who dislike this feel should consider carefully. Additionally, he may be challenging to team up with in the late game and may not be suitable for the version.

Ascension materials are conveniently located, with Everflame Seed and Small Lamp Grass found at the border between Mondstadt and Liyue, making them easy to obtain. The Recruit's Insignia is obtained from the Fatui and is a common material found everywhere.

[Keqing] Recommended Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pros: As a single-handed sword main DPS, if you find Diluc's handling a bit heavy and lack a main Electro DPS, Keqing can be a good alternative. She has a high-quality character model.

Cons:

(1) Keqing's damage is slightly lower in the early game without good artifacts. When trying to develop her as a main DPS in the mid-game by farming artifacts, the artifacts suited for Keqing may not be optimal for other characters, potentially leading to resin and time/resource wastage.

(2) Similar to Diluc, Keqing also struggles with team composition in the late game.

Ascension materials: Lightning Prism can be found in Mondstadt, Sweet Flower Nectar is commonly found, and Cor Lapis is a bit challenging to gather as it mostly grows at the foot or peak of mountains in Liyue, requiring even a level 1 claymore user to collect.

Helper category

[Mona] Recommended Rating ⭐⭐⭐

Pros: Apart from her Elemental Burst, Mona's other abilities and constellations are designed to amplify the damage output of your other characters. She is a good choice when you already have a main DPS and want to further support that main DPS.

Cons:

(1) For beginners, it can be challenging to fill up her Elemental Burst gauge. Without it filled, Mona's full potential cannot be utilized, which can be problematic if your main DPS falls in battle.

(2) Beginners may not have a strong damage-dealing character, so selecting an additional damage-boosting support like Mona might not be very effective in such scenarios.

Ascension materials: Pure Water Elemental is recommended to be obtained with the help of a more experienced player as it can be challenging for beginners. Calla Lily is found in Mondstadt and grows in hard-to-reach locations. Sweet Flower Nectar is a common drop from monsters.

[Dehya] Recommended Rating ⭐⭐

Her role mainly involves absorbing damage for you in the background, meaning that after using her skill, you don't need to switch to her as she automatically takes damage for the character you are currently using, giving you a false sense of not feeling the enemy's attacks. However, in the early stages where characters have relatively low HP, most large enemies can take them out with a single blow, making Diona's background damage absorption less significant. This character should be chosen as a backline support in the mid to late game when artifacts are well-developed (personal opinion, views may vary).

Ascension material, Shimmering Nectar, is also challenging for newcomers to find because it is not only far away in the Chasm but also located underground, with some collection points requiring completion of tasks to access, making it even harder to find than Tartaglia's Moonlight material. You cannot enter worlds higher level than yours, and players at your level are likely to have unfinished tasks, while the Chasm's world quests are lengthy and time-consuming.

The boss, Cryo Regisvine, is not difficult to find, and Hoarfrost Cores are common drops from monsters in the Chasm.

To reiterate, prioritize xp, as it is an irreversible choice. If you truly love a particular character, the references in the latter part of this post are not as important—follow your heart.
