Genshin Impact's new version, titled "The Day of the Flame's Return", will commence soon with a new map extension in Natlan. This new extension will feature two new regions a brand new tribe along with a new Saurian. A new set of artifacts and a new boss will also be introduced in this area. To explore this area more efficiently, players can upgrade their weaponry and characters by buying in-game bundles through Genshin Impact Crystals.
New Area - Sacred Mountain and Sanctified Land
A brand new area has been introduced in the new extended map which was visible even before but simply inaccessible to the players. Since the new region covers a massive area, players can expect a lot of exploration along with treasure chests and potential pyroculus.
This ancient sacred city is also known as the City of Tollan. This area will be released on March 26th, 2025 in the new update and can be accessed through a world quest and other small quests. A volcano, known as the Sacred Mountain, is also located in this area, which can be seen at the Stadium of the Sacred Flamed in Natlan.
This volcano can, however, erupt at any time. When the volcano erupts, deadly fireballs will rain down along with volcanic rocks. There are also several vents on the surface of the volcano that release Phlogiston. By using the new Saurian – Tatankasaurus, players can destroy the volcanic rocks, but they will have to evade the fireballs and vents.
Once the players reach inside the volcano, they can find ruins of an ancient civilization that is believed to be of a mythical dragon who once soared in the skies of Teyvat. Rumors have it that the civilization that resided within this volcano was the one that created the Secret Source Automatons, which can be spotted all across the map of Natlan.
Additionally, players can see a flying dragon statue that keeps floating around the ruins.
New Tribe - The Collective Plenty Tribe
These tribesmen hail from the Tollan region and are introduced in version 5.5 as a part of the map extension. The Collective Plenty Tribe is a warrior tribe that has adapted to the harsh volcanic conditions of Natlan and made friends with the Saurians. Unlike other tribes in Natlan, who use raw power for attacking and defending, this tribe uses a blend of speed, strength, and balance.
This tribe also has its signature wrestling style that they use to assert their dominance. Along with having a tense relationship with the followers of the Pyro Archon, this tribe's beliefs lie in the Collective of Plent,y who they think is the key to the survival of their tribe. This tribe typically rides saurians like Tatankasaurs.
New Saurian - Tatankasaurus
The Genshin Impact new Saurian, Tatankasaurus plays an important role in the tribe's combat and traditions as it is deeply connected with them. This Saurian is a large reptile that bears resemblance to both a dinosaur and a bison. He has thick scales that are heat-resistant and giant horns, which he uses for charging and smashing.
As the primary companion of the Collective Tribe, the Tatankasaurus is able to dash across lava and water and sprint on volcanic areas. These loyal and powerful saurians need to be tamed through wrestling matches - a tradition that is followed in the tribe.
Additional Aspects
- There are also Skyfire Circlet Ruins in the new area, which are tied to the floating ruins above the Great Volcano. Players will be required to explore these ruins to uncover Natlan's past.
- Regular wrestling matches are also held in the tribe region, where players can challenge tribe members against Saurian wrestling duels while unlocking rewards and learning more about their customs.
New Artifact Sets
Two new artifact sets are set to release in version 5.5, namely, Long Night's Oath and Finale of the Deep Galleries. These special artifact sets will be available in a new domain called "Derelict Masonry Dock" located in the Atocpac region of Natlan.
Long Night's Oath: This powerful set increases plunging attack damage by 25% when wearing a 2-piece set. With a 4-piece set, the characters gain a stack of "Radiance Everlasting" after using their elemental skill or burst, and each stack increases the plunging attack damage by 15% for 6 seconds, which can be stacked up to 5 times.
The finale of the Deep Galleries: This set is for the Cryo characters as it increases their cryo damage by 15% at the 2-piece set. When wearing a 4-piece set, characters can have their normal attacks and elemental burst damage increased by 60%. However, the character's elemental energy must be 0 for these effects to take place.
Players will have to use resins in these domains to gain these artifact sets along with additional rewards. It's normal for players to exhaust their resin supply in a single domain, so fret not, as you can also convert Genesis Crystals into resins, but for that, you will need to top up their Genesis Crystals through Genshin Top Up Center.
New Boss - Lava Dragon Statue
Located near the Great Volcano of Tollan, this new boss is a formidable opponent who practices aggressive playstyle while depending on his relentless attacks for dealing damage. This boss also features new attack patterns and can change forms when it has been hit by enough Pyro attacks. The Dragon changes its attack pattern along with its weaknesses after the form change. Defeating the Lava Dragon Statue can grant players rewards that can be obtained through the Trounce Blossom. These domains usually require 40 Original resins. The rewards from this boss also include ascension material for Varesa.
Conclusion
The newly extended map area is enough to keep the players indulged in its quests and lore for a while. With the massive area to explore, players are guaranteed an immersive experience with an engaging storyline. Players can also gain approximately 400 primogems by exploring this area alone. In addition to this, a new boss tracker will also be introduced in the new update which makes it easier to navigate the location of the bosses.
